Italy looking to involve utilities in broadband plans-report

Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi is considering the possibility of involving other players, including utility giant Enel, in the government's Strategy for Italian Broadband and Digital Growth 2014-20, reports Italian daily Il Messaggero. Renzi and his industrial policy advisor Andrea Guerra are putting the final touches to plans for much-needed broadband expansion throughout Italy and have held meetings with a number of interested parties over the past few days, including executives from Telecom Italia and Vodafone Italia.
