Italy 'treated like French Guyana' over TIM - minister

Italy's industry minister Carlo Calenda has accused France's Vivendi of treating Italy "like French Guyana" over its failure to notify the prime minister's office that it had taken over de facto control over Telecom Italia (TIM). "A company making an investment in telecommunications… has the duty to notify that it has lost control and if it doesn't do that and treats us as if we were French Guyana… it needs to brought to the table and the golden power applied as part of a process that makes it clear we are a serious country," said Calenda at the sidelines of a conference, according to Il Sole
