Italy's antitrust watchdog accepts TIM, Fastweb fibre commitments

Italian antitrust watchdog AGCM has closed its investigation into the Flash Fiber broadband joint venture set up by Telecom Italia (TIM) and Fastweb last year after accepting commitments made by the operators. The watchdog launched a probe into the joint venture in February 2017 on the grounds that it could result in the "consistent prevention, restriction or distortion of competition" in the country's wholesale, retail broadband and ultra-broadband markets. However, in a statement the AGCM said the series of commitments put forward by the partners were sufficient to meet competition
