Italy's antitrust watchdog extends Flash Fiber probe

Tuesday 9 January 2018 | 09:51 CET | News
Italian antitrust watchdog AGCM has announced another extension to its investigation into the Flash Fiber broadband joint venture set up by Telecom Italia (TIM) and Fastweb last year. In a statement the agency said it will continue evaluating the commitment proposals submitted by the parties until 28 February, a year after it launched a probe into the joint venture on the grounds that it could result in the "consistent prevention, restriction or distortion of competition" in the country's wholesale, retail broadband and ultra-broadband markets.
