ITV CEO refutes Liberty Global takeover speculation

ITV has not been approached by Liberty Global for a possible acquisition of the UK broadcaster, ITV CEO Adam Crozier said at a presentation of results. The CEO said the parties have not been in contact at all, beyond courtesy calls, the Financial Times reported. Liberty Global, which owns UK cable operator Virgin Media, recently acquired a 6.4 percent stake in ITV for GBP 481 million from BSkyB. Separately, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Liberty CEO Mike Fries said the company has no current plans to raise its stake in ITV. Liberty Global chairman John Malone said that
