Iusacell, Nextel and Unefon launch Extended Community calls

Mexican mobile operator Iusacell has announced that Iusacell, Nextel and Unefon customers now form part of what it describes as an Extended Community, allowing users of all three operators to call each other at no additional cost. The three companies are now owned by AT&T, which has plans to launch the first-ever North American mobile service area, covering more than 400 million customers and businesses in Mexico and the US. "As part of the AT&T family, Iusacell, Nextel and Unefon are initiating a new era in the telecommunications industry in Mexico," said AT&T Mexico chief marketing officer
