Japan govt to offer loans, tax incentives for 5G, drone services developers

The Japanese Cabinet has approved a bill to support companies developing secure 5G mobile networks and drone services. The decision follows increasing fears among Tokyo policymakers over the rising influence of China's 5G technology, Reuters reports. The bill is expected to provide companies which develop such technologies with access to low-interest rate loans from government-affiliated financial institutions if their plans comply with cybersecurity standards. Companies that adopt 5G technologies can also receive tax incentives if they meet standards set by the government.
