Japan to introduce law to boost 5G-powered industry development – report

Japan will introduce a law to help the development of new industries using 5G networks. The new law would target companies in Japan's telecom industry which plan to sign partnership deals with US and European companies, and accelerate the expansion of 5G services on the local market, Japanese newspaper The Mainichi reports, citing unnamed government sources. Under this plan, companies that are not using electronic parts with security risks when they build base stations and factories using 5G technologies will be eligible for tax benefits or subsidies.
