Japanese mobile operators to offer discounts for students for online classes

Amid the expanding covid-19 crisis, Japanese mobile operators NTT Docomo, KDDI and SoftBank plan to offer discounts on data communications fees for students aged 25 or lower. The initiative follows a request from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications to reduce extra charges for students taking online classes, Nikkei reports. Docomo, KDDI and SoftBank are expected to soon release further details related to this initiative.
