Jazz TV live streaming platform goes live on KaiOS
Pakistani operator Jazz has announced that its live streaming platform Jazz TV is now available to all Digit 4G users through a version of the app available on the KaiOS store. The app was launched in time for the HBL Pakistan Super League 5. Jazz also reports that more than 1.5 million customers are currently using the Jazz TV platform to stream the ongoing Twenty20 cricket league.

Jazz launched its Digit 4G smart feature phone earlier this year. Through KaiOS, the Digit 4G offers access to WhatsApp, YouTube and Google Maps services. The Jazz Digit 4G smartphone is available for a down payment of PKR 1,800 (approximately USD 11), with a 1-year subscription to a tariff plan of PKR 300 per month. The smartphone mainly targets the low-income customer segment, as more than 55 percent of Pakistan’s 165 million subscribers are currently using feature phones and 2G devices.

Core intelligent hardware products provider FISE has tied up with and smart feature phone software designer KaiOS Technologies to announced the world's first 4G phone with a built-in infrared thermometer, capable of readings down to 0.2 degrees Celsius. It has been developed in response to Covid-19 and the resulting demand for on-the-go temperature monitoring.

Pakistan mobile operator Jazz, in partnership with KaiOS Technologies, has launched the Jazz Digit 4G – 'Pakistan ka smartphone' (Pakistan's smartphone). The device is available for a down payment of PKR 1,800 (approximately USD 11), with a 1-year subscription to a tariff plan of PKR 300 per month. Subscribers will receive 1,000 minutes for voice calls, 1000MB for data traffic, unlimited SMS and voice calls to doctors along with unlimited Facebook and WhatsApp access for the first three months.

Vodacom Tanzania has announced the launch of the Smart Kitochi, operating on KaiOS. It is the first smart feature phone available on the Tanzanian market and starts at a discounted price of TZS 48,000. Vodacom is offering it with a monthly bundle of 4 GB data, 100 minutes talk time and 500 SMS for the first six months.
