
Indian operator Jio has announced a smartphone created with Google. The Jio and Google teams have optimized a version of Android OS especially for this device. It will offer language and translation features, and support for the latest Android updates.
The device is built for India and targets millions of new users who will experience the internet for the very first time, said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet. The device is scheduled for launch later this year.
Jio and Google Cloud also announced they have teamed up to offer 5G services for businesses and residential customers on the local market. In addition, Reliance will also adopt Google Cloud’s infrastructure to modernize its retail business.
