Jolla opens pre-sales for Sailfish tablet

Jolla has opened pre-sales for its tablet running the Sailfish operating system, several months later than initially expected. The company started a crowdfunding campaign for the tablet late last year and showed a prototype of the device at the Mobile World Congress in February. It had hoped to start selling the device in May, but supply problems with some of the components led to a delay.

Limited quantities of the tablet are now available on the company's online store for orders, and Jolla expects to start shipping the device by the end of October. Customers who subscribed to the crowdfunding on Indiegogo will receive their devices in the next few weeks. The 32 GB tablet is priced at EUR 267 and the 32 GB version costs EUR 299. The Jolla Tablet is available in all EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, US, Canada, Australia, India, Hong Kong and Russia.

The device runs the quad-core, 1.8 GHz Intel Baytrail processor and features a 7.85-inch screen with 2048x1536 resolution. It runs 2 GB RAM and comes with 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front cameras.
