Jolla launches first tablet in crowdfunding campaign
Jolla has started a fundraising drive on IndieGogo to launch its first tablet. Running version 2.0 of Jolla's Sailfish OS, the tablet will feature a 7.85-inch display, 1.8 GHz Intel processor, 2GB memory, a 2 megapixel front camera and 5 megapixel back camera. 

Within a couple hours of starting the crowdfunding campaign, Jolla sold out the initial batch of 1,000 tablets, offered for USD 189 each. It aims to deliver the first devices in May 2015. A second lot of 1,000 units is available for USD 199 each. The tablet can be shipped to the EU, Norway, Switzerland, US, India, China, Hong Kong or Russia. 

In total Jolla raised the USD 380,000 targeted within the first day of the tablet campaign.

Jolla starts crowdfunding for 64 GB tablet

Jolla has launched a new crowd-funding campaign to develop a 64 GB version of its tablet. Its campaign on Indiegogo late last year for the 32 GB version of the tablet raised much more than expected and will now be extended. Jolla has completed its crowdfunding campaign for its tablet, raising over USD 1.82 million. The three-week campaign on Indiegogo raised well over the USD 380,000 initially targeted, and thanks to the extra funds, Jolla plans to add extra features to the tablet. Over 13,000 contributors took part in the campaign. Binnen slechts twee uur tijd wist het project al 380.000 dollar op te halen. In totaal ontving Jolla financiële steun van 13.000 mensen wereldwijd. Jolla cuts smartphone price to celebrate tablet funding

Jolla is cutting the price of the smartphone that it brought out last year by EUR 100 until 25 November or while stocks last. The reduction is to celebrate its successful bid for crowdfunding for its tablet on Indiegogo. It had aimed to rise USD 380,000 by 19 December to fund production of the tablet but it raised USD 1 million in just two days. To mark the milestone and thank those who took part, Jolla is offering the smartphone for EUR 249 instead of EUR 349, plus EUR 15 postage and packing (P&P).

Company Jolla has stared pre-sales for its smartphone based on the Sailfish OS in Russia. The device is priced at RUB 19,990, with the changeable panels costing RUB 2,380.
