Jordanian mobile wallet numbers grow 25% in first 4 months, transaction value up 230%

There has been a rise in use of mobile money in Jordan after the government encouraged remote payments, Verdict reported. It said Mobile Financial Services (MFS) have had a growth in the number of mobile wallets to 760,000 in April 2020. This represents around 10 percent of the total mobile subscription base, with a total transaction value of USD 88.1 million, up from USD 26.7 million in December 2019. It is a 230 percent increase in transaction value in April 2020 versus December 2019, and a 25 percent increase in the number of wallets over the same period.
