Judge blocks Microsoft's Pentagon cloud contract following Amazon suit

Friday 14 February 2020 | 10:43 CET | News
A federal judge has ordered the Pentagon to temporarily block Microsoft from beginning a multibillion-dollar cloud computing contract following a lawsuit from Amazon, reports the Wall Street Journal. Judge Patricia Campbell-Smith of the US Court of Federal Claims issued a preliminary injunction to block the Pentagon from proceeding in response to a lawsuit from Amazon contending improper influence from President Trump. The e-commerce giant cited the US president's public tweets as evidence that he sought to deny Amazon the contract out of a personal animosity toward CEO Jeff Bezos.
