Kabel Deutschland to purchase Tele Columbus - report

Germany's largest cable network operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has won the battle for German cable network operator Tele Columbus, according to industry sources cited by the Financial Times Deutschland. Another possible buyer is rumoured to be Deutsche Telekom. The sources also said that Kabel Deutschland will have to agree to some conditions before the federal cartel office will approve the acquisition. Tele Columbus is active in Eastern Germany and competes with KDG on some networks as reseller. In 2010, Tele Columbus had revenues of EUR 220 million with an EBITDA of EUR 40 million, which were the last published financial figures.
