KCC close to completing Google Street View investigation

The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) is close to finishing its investigation into Google Street View's accidental gathering of personal information. "We have almost completed our investigation into Google. Its alleged data gathering without consent is in breach of law governing information and communications networks," the Korea Herald quotes Ban Sang-kwon, head of the KCC's privacy protection and ethics division, as saying. Following the investigation, the KCC could impose a fine. The company admitted to gathering the personal information in 2011 and explained it was accidental.
