Kenyan fixed and mobile internet subscriptions drop nearly 1% in Q3

The total number of data/internet subscriptions in Kenya dropped by 0.7 percent to 39.3 million in the third quarter ended 31 March, from 39.6 million subscriptions in Q2, statistics from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) shows. This is mainly attributed to the decline in mobile subscriptions at Telkom Kenya after the operator scaled back investments in anticipation of the proposed Airtel-Telkom merger, although this has since changed.
