Kenyan fixed line subscriptions rise nearly 2% in Q2

Tuesday 28 September 2021 | 12:18 CET | News
The number of fixed telephony subscriptions in Kenya increased by 1.7 percent to 14,691 fixed lines and by 2.4 percent to 1,144 fixed wireless subscriptions, but fixed VoIP subscriptions fell by 4.7 percent to 42,162 , the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) said in its report for the second quarter to 30 June. It said total local fixed network traffic dropped by 1.9 percent to 5.4 million minutes from 5.5 million in the quarter to end-March, as the convenient and reliable nature of mobile services has encouraged consumers to increase mobile uptake.
