Kenyan govt decries high roaming charges in East Africa

The Kenyan government is concerned over the high mobile roaming charges within East Africa, saying they pose a challenge to the growth of the regional communication sector, The Star reported. Ministry of Information and Communications Permanent Secretary Bruce Madete said it is quite discouraging that the mobile roaming charges between Kenya and Burundi are much higher than those between Kenya and the UK or between Kenya and India.
