Kenyan govt says up to Safaricom to choose 5G vendor

The Kenyan government will resist pressure to push Safaricom to stop working with Huawei for the roll-out of its 5G network, Business Daily reported. Joe Mucheru, the Cabinet Secretary for ICT, said that Kenya would not stop the 5G deployment amid tensions between the US and China over Huawei's involvement in 5G networks. The US has been urging its European allies and others not to use Huawei, citing security concerns.
