Kenyan govt seeks funding for Konza Technology City

The Kenyan government is inviting local investors and financiers to fund the construction of Konza Technology City. Ground breaking for the project is set for September. The first phase is projected to cost more than USD 3 billion, so Ministry of Information and Communication Permanent Secretary Bitange Ndemo said it will take private sector participation to complete the project. He said the government had allocated KES 1 billion initially for the project but he expects the complete plan to cost trillions of shillings.
