Korean iPhone users sue Apple over privacy issues

Almost 27,000 South Korean iPhone users have filed a class-action suit against Apple. The iPhone users are seeking KRW 1 million each in compensation for privacy violations arising from the device's user location tracking, news agency Yonhap writes. Miraelaw, the firm handling the suit, lodged the lawsuit on behalf of 26,691 iPhone users at the Changwon District Court. The law firm also plans to form another group of iPhone owners by the end of this month that will join the next round of litigation against Apple. Earlier this month, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) imposed a fine of KRW 3 million on Apple for collecting iPhone users' location. The commission also ordered Apple to make appropriate corrections to its practices.
