Kosovo to expand fibre coverage with World Bank support

Kosovo's Economic Development Minister Valdrin Lluka has announced a EUR 30 million project with the World Bank for the expansion of the fibre network in the country, reports local broadcaster RTK. The two-year project will see 95 percent of Kosovo's territory covered with optical fibre, compared to the current 65 percent. The project, expected to be approved by September, aims to extend internet access to places where private operators do not have an economic interest to provide connections.
