KPN Belgium signs VDSL wholesale deal with Belgacom

Thursday 27 September 2012 | 11:26 CET | News
KPN Belgium has signed a five-year agreement to develop VDSL2 services using Belgacom's network. Belgacom announced the wholesale contract for fixed broadband and related services. KPN will announce later the retail offering and branding for the services. It's not clear whether the offering will also include TV. New regulations require Belgacom to offer resale of its TV services, but the operator is fighting this in court. KPN is active in the Belgian mobile market through the operator Base, but the company sold its enterprise and wholesale activities on the fixed market to Mobistar in 2010.
