KPN buys back EUR 1 billion in bonds

Thursday 8 September 2016 | 10:31 CET | News
KPN announced that it's buying back EUR 1 billion in debt. The public offer launched on 30 August saw stronger-than-expected demand, prompting the company to increase the total purchase from an original estimate of EUR 750 million. The bond buyback will be financed with the issue of a new bond in two tranches worth in total EUR 1.25 billion. KPN said the transactions will help improve its debt profile, extending the average maturity and lowering the interest rate.
