KPN closes rights issue with 97% acceptance

KPN said that registration for its EUR 3 billion rights issue closed on 14 May, with 97.4 percent accepted. Shareholders subscribed to 2.763 billion new ordinary shares with a nominal value of EUR 0.24 per share, for an issue price of EUR 1.06 per share. The rest of the shares, amounting to 74.8 million, were sold to institutional investors at EUR 1.75 each, via a consortium of several banks. The issue raises the number of outstanding shares at KPN to 4.270 billion.
