KPN consumer mobile revenues sink 15%, EBITDA down 76%

KPN's Consumer Mobile division reported revenues in Q4 2013 down 15 percent from a year earlier to EUR 353 million. Costs were also higher, leading to a 76 percent fall in EBITDA to EUR 33 million and a margin of 9.3 percent. The weak results were due to competition, investments in LTE and an end to the company's handset leasing structure. Capex was reduced sharply to EUR 26 million, but free cash flow still fell, to EUR 7 million from EUR 37 million a year earlier. KPN saw mobile service revenues fall 15 percent to EUR 323 million, and equipment sales were also lower, down 12 percent to EUR
