KPN gets first bids for Base - report

Thursday 9 August 2012 | 15:01 CET | News
KPN has received the first indicative bids for its Belgian unit Base, reports Belgian paper De Standaard. Bids were due by the first week of August. Serious bidders can now start due diligence. A person familiar with the process said KPN aims to sell Base for EUR 1.8 billion, including debt. Rumoured bidders include Telenet, with the support of an investment fund, and the publisher De Persgroep. KPN Belgium already participates in a joint venture with Persgroep and Roularta, called MPlus Group, to provide personalised information services.
