KPN loses market share in telephony, broadband - Opta

The number of fixed lines in the Netherlands fell to 7.138 million at the end of March, from 7.232 million three months earlier, according to regulator Opta's quarterly monitor. The total includes 3.21 million copper lines and 3.891 million VoIP connections over various types of infrastructure. KPN was the largest provider, followed by Ziggo, UPC Netherlands and Tele2 Netherlands. Carrier pre-select use continues to decline, while wholesale line rental was still growing.
