KPN may not remain independent - CEO

KPN may no longer be an independent operator in 4-5 years time, according to CEO Eelco Blok. In an interview with Dutch paper NRC Handelsblad, the KPN CEO said he expects the European telecom landscape to look much different in 4-5 years, and he didn't know whether KPN would still be independent then. Negotiations for America Movil to acquire the Dutch operator last year failed due to a lack of agreement on price, but Block noted that the companies were otherwise not that far apart.
