KPN rural 4G test planned for Loppersum

KPN is planning a test in Loppersum to use the 4G network to boost broadband speeds in remote areas. Jaap Postma, head of KPN's consumer division, announced the plans on the Kassa consumer programme, Emerce reports. KPN has largely completed its nationwide 4G roll-out and plans to look at whether the use of 4G antennas can boost ADSL speeds. Postma said MiFi routers, that share a mobile broadband signal over a Wi-Fi network, were not an option, and the company was still looking at the technical options for the trial.
