KPN says America Movil bid lacked complete package

KPN wanted a complete package from America Movil, with financial, non-financial and governance assurances, to reach a possible takeover agreement, according to KPN CEO Eelco Blok. In a conference call on the failed takeover talks, Blok said the aim was to ensure the interests of all KPN stakeholders. He declined to provide further details over the negotiations, in part because they may resume again in future, given America Movil is still the largest shareholder. He did name a few other concrete reasons why KPN rejected the takeover proposal. To start with, KPN found the bid price of EUR 2.40
