KPN, Tele2 call for ACM to regulate TV market

KPN is disappointed with the decision of Dutch regulator ACM to continue wholesale regulation on the DSL and fibre networks but not extend this to cable networks. The company said it was unfair that it was subjected to such regulation on the consumer market, while this did not apply to Ziggo, the biggest cable operator. Since Ziggo agreed to merge with UPC, creating a nationwide cable operator, KPN has called for the two groups to be treated the same. KPN has around 40 percent of the Dutch broadband market, while Ziggo-UPC holds 44 percent. In the TV market, KPN has 26 percent share, while
