KPN tests higher speeds over VDSL

KPN is testing new VDSL technologies, the company said at a presentation of its annual results. Several vendors, including Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei, are testing a more efficient modulation technique for the signal over copper lines. Called VDSL Plus or Super VDSL, the technology in combination with vectoring could reach speeds of 400 Mbps. It was not clear over what distance the speeds are possible. The technology is not yet standardised and will require further development before it can be deployed commercially. KPN is already rolling out vectoring on a large part of its network, and bonded
