KPN to expand VDSL vectoring coverage

KPN Wholesale will deploy from November 1,171 new VDSL Buitenring cabinets, expanding its VDSL coverage by around 270,000 households to a total 2.1 million. Vectoring will be possible at all the new sites, as the technology will be standard from November on all new Buitenring cabinets. In August, KPN announced a pilot to upgrade all existing Buitenring sites with DSLAM vectoring equipment. The Dutch operator started over a year ago connecting street cabinets to the so-called Buitenringen (outer rings), which provide redundant fibre links.
