KPN to launch LoRa M2M services in 2015

Wednesday 14 January 2015 | 13:17 CET | News
KPN announced it will introduce LoRa services this year. LoRa stands for long range and is an umbrella term for M2M services that use little bandwidth and connect only occasionally to the internet. An example is intelligent street lighting that can be controlled remotely. According to KPN, the LoRa connectivity module can work for ten years on a single AA battery. KPN is one of the founding members of the LoRa Alliance, a recently announced industry group aimed at promoting and standardising LoRa services.
