KPN well-placed to remain independent - CEO

Thursday 30 July 2015 | 13:59 CET | News
KPN is in a good position to remain independent in the coming years, CEO Eelco Block told De Telegraaf following Q2 results from the Dutch operator. His comments follow recent speculation of a possible merger of KPN with Belgian operator Proximus or a takeover bid from Altice for the Dutch company. In 2013, KPN already rejected a takeover bid from America Movil and since then it has sold its operations in Germany and Belgium. Blok said he was "more confident than ever" that KPN could play its own role in the consolidation underway in the European telecom market.
