KPN withdraws preference shares

Friday 21 March 2014 | 11:10 CET | News
KPN announced it has withdrawn its outstanding preference B shares. Shareholders approved the decision at a meeting in January. The shares were issued last year to a foundation set up to protect the company's interests, diluting the stake of America Movil, which had planned a takeover bid for the Dutch operator. As a result of the foundation's defense, the takeover was abandoned. The foundation later agreed to give up the stake and have KPN withdraw the shares.
