Kroes plans review of Digital Agenda goals

The European Commission will propose a review of the Digital Agenda goals later this year in order to refocus its priorities, according to Neelie Kroes, vice-president of the EC responsible for the Digital Agenda. In a speech in Brussels looking back at the first 2.5 years of the project, she cited the cuts in roaming rates and the new spectrum policy as key achievements. However, the EU is still falling short in some areas, with one in four people still yet to use the internet and many businesses failing to invest enough in ICT, Kroes said.
