Kroes pushes plan for telecom single market reform

Digital Agenda commissioner Neelie Kroes presented her plans for a connected continent during a breakfast at the European Investment Fund, calling for no more barriers to future sources of growth such as ICT. Kroes said broadband could help fix many of Europe's current competivity, jobs and public services challenges. She noted that Europe has 8 times less fibre broadband and 15 percent less 4G than its major competitors. She also rued the fact that Europe still relies entirely on imports from Korea and California and called for more and better infrastructure. The European Commission
