Kroes says Dutch net neutrality rules premature

Neelie Kroes, the European Commissioner for digital affairs, said that while she understands Dutch concerns over an open and free internet, she still feels it is premature for political parties to set principles for net neutrality into law. Kroes made the statements in answer to questions on technology website Webwereld. Calls to anchor net neutrality rules into Dutch law have come Independent Party D66, Labour Party PvdA, Green Party GroenLinks, and the Socialist Party. The plans have garnered support from a majority in the Lower House of Parliament. The new rules would make it impossible
