KT launches 2pairs LAN GiGA fixed-line network technology

South Korean operator KT has announced it has developed a technology capable of increasing the speed of local area network (LAN) internet services to 1 Gbps. KT said its new technology, dubbed '2pairs LAN GiGA', will accelerate the development of gigabit-class network services without physical upgrades to network cables, The Korea Times reports. The 2pairs LAN GiGA technology doubles network speeds by improving the modulation system between operators and subscribers, KT said.
