Kwara State Governor Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has directed the reduction of the Right of Way (RoW) fee for telecommunications firms from NGN 5,500 per linear metre to NGN 1 per kilometre of fibre. The state now has the second-lowest RoW fee in Nigeria after Kaduna State. The decision is designed to deepen digital penetration in Kwara State, make it easier to do business there and facilitate access to the internet and other digital communication even in the remotest part of the state.
