Lack of govt agency response delays MTN Nigeria fine talks

Thursday 7 April 2016 | 09:46 CET | News
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said the absence of an instrument of negotiation on the part of government was one reason why MTN had not begun the process that would lead to the full payment of the NGN 780 billion fine imposed on it in 2015, ThisDay reported. NCC CEO Umar Danbatta admitted that key agencies had not responded to the proposal made by MTN to facilitate negotiations. He said this was currently being collated and very soon, a team that NCC already has in place will enter direct negotiation with MTN.
