Lagardere, Vivendi still in talks on Canal+ deal

French media group Lagardere said it's still in talks with Vivendi on its stake in Canal+ France. The statement follows a report in Nouvel Observateur that the companies had reached an agreement on the sale. Lagardere earlier this year filed a lawsuit against Vivendi accusing it of misappropriation of the profits from their Canal+ joint venture. According to the magazine, Vivendi has now decided it would be easier to buy out Lagardere's 20 percent stake in the French pay-TV company than settle the dispute. The talks are reportedly centred on agreeing a price, with Lagardere seeking at least EUR 1 billion and Vivendi closer to EUR 800-900 million.
