Last week in media: Alphabet leads sector down, Facebook and Google working on privacy, Sinclair nearing deal with Disney

The Telecompaper Stock Index Global Consumer Media was down 1.8 percent in week 18, led by Alphabet (-6.8%) after reporting weak results. Facebook (+2.1%) was up on its annual F8 conference. Other news related mainly to either M&A or earnings. Year-to-date, the index (+20.3%) is still outperforming the S&P 500 (+17.5%).
