Last week in telecoms: Sunrise crossing swords with Freenet over UPC Schweiz

Quarterly figures and acquisitions determined the mood in the European telecom sector last week. In the end, the price of the TPSI European Telecom Services index fell by 0.5 percent over week 34, while the EuroStoxx 50 index rose by 0.2 percent. Syn (Vodafone Iceland) was the largest downer with -14 percent, the Italian Tiscali the largest gainer with +21 percent. Apart from these microcaps, the Polish Play (-6.2%) and the Spanish MasMovil (+ 8.8%) were the biggest outliers.
