LatAm countries allocated just 33% of expected spectrum in 2017 - study

Latin American countries assigned 485 MHz of spectrum for 3G and 4G services in 2017 via auctions and reallocations, barely 33 percent of the expected 1,481 MHz, according to a report from industry association 5G Americas. Argentina allocated the most spectrum for mobile services last year, above all in the 2.5 GHz frequency range, followed by Mexico, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Puerto Rico.
