LatAm OTT SVoD subs up 30% to over 18 mln in 2017

Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) subscriptions surged 29.8 percent year on year to 18.2 million in 2017, according to the latest data from Dataxis. The figure is equivalent to 25.2 percent of total fixed broadband accesses in the region, suggesting the sector has ample room to grow even further. Mexico currently accounts for 40.5 percent of SVoD subscriptions, followed by Brazil with 35.1 percent. Argentina with 7.2 percent, Colombia with 5.9 percent and Chile with 4.0 percent.
